Environmental
Simple but effective sustainability measures are in place across our various sites, including waste recycling facilities and a plastic-cup free office policy. Our commitment to sustainability extends to the dry materials used in production, for example our corks are sourced from a responsible supplier committed to a 9-year harvesting cycle that ensures no trees are cut down to obtain cork. We are amidst a 2-year exercise to lightweight our glass, reducing our impact on the environment whilst maintaining a premium product.
Charity
We are committed to using the strength of our brands to give back where possible through The Douglas Laing Foundation. Four of our RRMs now have official charity partnerships: The Epicurean with the Benevolent Society, Timorous Beastie with Trees4Scotland, Scallywag with Wildlife Trust and Big Peat with Fisherman’s Mission. Charitable bottlings are also occasionally released to support specific causes, such as Big Peat “Heroes”, donating sanitiser during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Responsible Drinking
We invest in marketing our Scotch Whiskies for responsible drinking – employing terminology such as “sip” and “savour” on our packaging. “Please enjoy responsibly” is featured on all marketing materials, from promotional merchandise to advertisements.
